Wow what a fortnight!

The Minx has decided to stay another week woo hoo! Right now she should be at home but shes not. Shes watching the TV and playing with Sadie whilst I'm writing on my blog lol.

So far:

We went to the Pyramids on the first friday. I went on a camel and rode it for the 1st time in my life. I can honestly say I will NEVER do that again!

My poor babba Sadie FELL OFF the camel. Thank God it was a soft landing! Literally before and after the fall we were cautiously navigating around some rocky terrain. Imagine, we were in the Sahara dessert!

So after the Camel ride/tour we went to a perfume seller. These people sell pure essences for 2le (around 2p) a gram. Before we went in I was offered no less than 50 camels for the Minx! I was literally rolling with laughter! This is something you hear or see in a movie not real life! The man said it with a straigh face too! LOL

So afterwards we bought some seriously wicked, indulgent, decadent essences and then headed home.

What else has happened? Well we have been to the pool and taken in some sun and unheated water (brrrr) and just hung out in the shade really.

Today we went to the Citadel. Now listen here. If you are a tourist you pay 50le (around fiver) entrance. If you are Egyptian or from the surrounding countries like Sudan you pay................ 2le!! Yes that IS a huge difference. So me? I strolled up to the kiosk and said "salaams usted" (Peace Sir). The man said to me where are you from? I said SUDAN. HE said go to the next window and pay 2le. I went to the window and gave the woman 4le (Sadie goes FREE), she gave me a receipt and after telling Sadie to shush we walked as slowly and relaxed as possible into the entry area. I. AM. A. DON!! LMAO!!!!!

The Citadel is absolutely gorgeous. Inside is full of caligraphy on the walls, you can see a pulpit, some gorgeously simple lamps and carpets galore. Outside there is a view of what looks to be half of Cairo where we took some pictures. I had to tell a group of Chinese men not to take pictures of us like we were part of the scene lol. I don;t mind me but aww to the H no pics of my CHILD! The thing is they said sorry and deleted the pics. Didnt we clock a whole load of people taking pics of us as we were leaving though? KMT. SOme people have NO boundaries or respect.

Next!! Khan Kahlili. It's a HUGE market for tourists and all things homely. Minx got a small shisha pipe set for a decent price, we saw a TINY kitten and bought a few other things. Oh, I was also caught up in negotiations with a stall holder selling Jilbabs (long dresses) as to how much he should pay me in Mahr (dowry) for Minx LMAO!!!! She didnt have a clue until I explained to her what we were chatting about hehehe.

The Minx was catcalled, whistled at and called "brown Suga" to our GREAT amusement.

Afterwards we walked right down to what I described to Minx as "Proper Egypt" I bought a few things and then we spent about 20 mins trying to get a taxi back up the long road. The idiots were trying to charge me tourist prices!!!

So now we are finally home and I shall be finishing off some Trinketsity orders and then going to bed for work in the am!

Toodles!!! xxx
